Sushi Chef

While in the Air Force, I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for a period of two years in 1989-90. I enjoyed the flavors of local Sushi very much. After developing conversational Japanese language skills, I pursued the art of Sushi. During my final six months in the country, I spent most of my free time working for free in a Sushi Bar to learn the skills..

After I separated from the Air Force, I returned home to Baltimore to wait for training in the Air National Guard. During this period of nine months, I worked full time at Nichi Bei Kai Japanese Restaurant in Lutherville, MD as a Sushi Chef.
